An airplane flying low over a runway during sunset or sunrise.
  • A ferry flight is a non-revenue flight used to reposition an aircraft, rather than to transport paying passengers or cargo. In other words, it’s when a plane is flown from one location to another for operational or logistical reasons, not as part of its normal service.

Some common reasons for ferry flights:

    • Delivery flights – transporting a newly built aircraft from the manufacturer to the buyer.

    • Repositioning flights – moving an aircraft to where it’s needed for its next job or base of operations.

    • Maintenance flights – flying an aircraft to a facility for repair, inspection, or overhaul.

    • Lease returns or sales – relocating an aircraft when ownership or leases change hands.

    • Storage/retirement – moving an aircraft to long-term storage or to be scrapped.

In aviation regulations, these flights often require special considerations, especially if the aircraft is not currently “airworthy” in the usual sense. In that case, operators might need a special flight permit (sometimes called a “ferry permit”) from the FAA or relevant aviation authority, allowing the aircraft to be flown safely to a location where repairs or inspections can be completed.

  • All of our ferry pilots are fully insured and meet or exceed aviation insurance requirements. This means your aircraft is protected, and every flight is conducted under full compliance with liability and safety standards.

  • At this time, our ferry flight services are limited to domestic deliveries within the United States. This allows us to provide fast, insured, and reliable repositioning while keeping costs efficient for our clients.

  • All ferry flights are conducted by qualified, experienced pilots who meet or exceed insurance and FAA requirements. Pilot experience includes type ratings and flight time appropriate for your aircraft.

  • Ferry flight pricing depends on:

    • Aircraft type

    • Distance/route

    • Fuel/Oil costs - Owner usually pays, unless included in hourly rate

    • Landing / Handling Fees: $50–$200 per airport

    • Crew expenses (if overnight stays are required)
We provide clear, upfront quotes before every flight.

    Total Estimate$1,050

Notes: Final price may vary depending on weather, ATC delays, or additional route requirements.

  • Most flights only require standard FAA documentation. In cases where the aircraft is not fully airworthy, we can help coordinate a special flight (ferry) permit through the FAA.
